Damares is a postdoctoral researcher at UCLouvain, working on trade and environmental issues. She completed her master’s degree in Applied Economics and her doctorate in Economics from the Federal University of Juiz de Fora and was a Fulbright Visiting Scholar during her PhD. Her research is multidisciplinary and focuses on Regional Science. She has experience in input-output methods, Computable General Equilibrium (CGE) models, econometrics and other spatial analysis techniques, and has worked at the intersection of trade and inequality, institutions and the environment. Damares currently devotes her efforts to promoting greater transparency in trade, contributing to deforestation-free supply chains and promoting a more circular economy.
